2nd Mate DPO

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel on deck duty during the watch. Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant company’s guidelines and procedures.
  • Manually control the vessel - manoeuvrer the vessel in port and where ever necessary - navigate the vessel under all circumstances.
  • Competence for navigational watches is in accordance with the requirements of the STCW Code.
  • Cooperate with all bridge operations and participate in all operations on board.
  • Knowledge in the setup and use of all Bridge equipment, DP system and related components, reference systems, communication systems, navigation equipment and production control system.

 

Skills

You can move ahead as 2nd Mate DPO if you have:

 

  • At least 1 years’ relevant work experience as 2nd Mate DPO.
  • DP certificate issued by the NI, NMD or an accredited equivalent.
  • Hold Certificate of Competence in accordance with the requirements of STCW code.
  • Valid seafarers medical certificate.
  • A good command of written and spoken English.
