3rd Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • The technical installations on board our equipment must be well maintained at all times. As a 3rd Engineer, you are responsible for this together with the Chief Engineer and the 2nd Engineer.
  • The focus is on optimizing the availability of the technical installation on board. Together with the Chief Engineer and the 2nd Engineer you have the responsibility for this, a big challenge!
  • Of course, we must not forget safety. Environmental regulations on board and the maintenance of safety equipment (ISM & ISPS) are very important to Van Oord and you ensure that our high safety standard is met.
  • You consult with the Chief Engineer and the 2nd Engineer on a daily basis about work to be performed.
  • The ship's administration must be kept in accordance with the Van Oord standards, which is also part of your daily tasks.
Skills

Are you in possession of a completed training in Maritime Technology or do you have solid practical experience as an engineer on board? Do not hesitate to apply!

Further requirements related to STCW courses apply and in addition to legal obligations, the 3rd Engineer will be required to complete all recommended Van Oord training courses. Working internationally is no problem for you, as our activities take place worldwide. This also allows you to communicate at a precise professional level in the English language.
