Researches and monitors the local/regional market assigned to CSC, in order to identify potential pool of candidates for the recruitment of vessels
Develops synergies with maritime institutes, associations and educational schools of training centres, in order to increase the quality and quantity of the candidate pool according to BSMs standards
Develops opportunities to promote branding activities in local Region to attract high calibre seafarers for all levels. Makes presentations of BSM services to maritime audiences in order to enhance the brand name of BSM and become employer of choice for the maritime community
Researches and reviews maritime labour market conditions including the wage scales, benefits and other practices of maritime community. Gathers and updates the CSC Director periodically on the information about the market intelligence to enhance decision making ability of BSM to attract and retain the best seafarers
Participates in the development of CSC’s short, medium and long-term recruitment plan according to CSC head office requirements and manages all necessary activities for its accurate and timely execution giving due consideration of seafarers DOA.
Publishes and communicates the recruitment openings to the assigned market and conducts interviews in order to select and propose to SMCs the most suitable seafarers according to quality standards and requirements.
Skills
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or Certificate in Maritime or relevant field
Work Experience:
At least 5 years of hands-on work experience as Master or Chief Engineer and/or 5 years in a Marine related office environment in a crew personnel supervising role with at least 2 years in Supervisory role.
Relevant experience in maritime Manning operations and /or Ex Master Mariner/Chief Engineer
Job-Specific Skills:
Very good knowledge of the vessels’ crew requirements and seafarers’ specifications
Knowledge of the local market dynamics both for demand-supply situation, and also for demographics of maritime labour-supplying countries
Exposure in the development of collective agreements and employment contracts
Extensive experience in recruitment process and techniques
Strong knowledge of the seafarers’ rights and the maritime labour law
Knowledge of the maritime legal framework e.g. employers’ obligations, recruitment prerequisites etc.
