Assistant Manager - Ships & Terminals

About the job

Reporting to the National Manager - Ships & Terminals, the Assistant Manager - Ships & Terminals role will be responsible for:
 

  • Providing Operational support activities for CMA CGM and ANL services calling Ports and Terminals in Australia ensuring optimal outcome overall for the Group in terms of operational efficiencies
  • Oversee the management of the Vessel Operations team ensuring key objectives of service delivery are achieved.
  • Monitor the performance of third-party providers to ensure KPIs are met/exceeded and drive continuous improvement in their service delivery.
  • Deputize for National Manager - Ships and Terminals in managing the team, and be the second in charge for Agency Operations Department.

Skills
  • Unlimited working rights in Australia (Australian citizenship or permanent residence)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Nautical studies or Port Operations or Logistics/ Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Maritime Operations, Vessel husbandry or other operational areas within the shipping industry
  • Working knowledge of the Australian Shipping Industry with previous experience in a Supervisory role.
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Good problem-solving ability and strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in implementing process improvements and optimization
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with various levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated change management experience
  • Valid Drivers License
