Deck Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist onshore project team in the preparation of estimates by scoping identified work areas
  • Track all hours expended against all active work orders and report regularly to the onshore support team
  • In co-operation with the Ithaca onshore planner and the project team review the platform look ahead to identify forthcoming work scopes and assist with the planning of both plant/material and labour resources
  • Liaise with onshore project team and the client on a regular basis to record and communicate workscope progress, productivity, operational difficulties, and commercial implications including variation to the scope
  • Ensure effective cost control during all projects managing daily/weekly time writing as required ensuring correct cos allocation of man hours, input man hours & history into SAP.
  • Play an active role in managing and controlling costs and take an active interest in budgets, work orders and the commercial aspects of the contract
  • Proactively identify and manage resource shortfalls ensuring optimum utilisation of field resources
  • Carry out first trip assessments on all personnel new to the installation, including Installation Induction follow up
  • Promote a high standard or workmanship ensuring all work scopes are executed and recorded in accordance with client and company QA/QC procedure and specifications
  • Ensure that all lifting operations are carried out in accordance with the correct procedures, ie LOLER and Ithaca specific procedures
  • Ensure that competency levels and training records of the deck crew are maintained
  • liaise with the planning team to ensure that the supply vessel loadings and deck loadings are carried out efficiently
  • Liaise with the Ithaca Lifting TA to ensure that 6 month LOLER inspections are carried out
  • Control and co-ordinate crane and lifting operations assisted by deck crew
  • Effective track and maintain a register of equipment on the platform, including appropriate certification dates. Updated register to be emailed to onshore project team weekly
  • Liaising with RTL and OTL, take responsibility for all temporary equipment arriving on the installation and for the preparation of appropriate documentation
  • Ensure all equipment is suitably packed and manifested for backload in a timely manner on completion of workscope
  • Liaising with both onshore and offshore teams to prioritise out-bound shipments requested for the platform
  • Ensuring all materials arriving on the installation has the correct documentation
  • Ensure the update and control the installation scaffolding register – including issue of reports to the project team
  • Actively assist with helideck team member duties, loading of passengers, baggage, and freight
  • Participate in weekly emergency drills as part of the helideck team
  • Assist the HLO in identifying training requirements for the helideck team members and ensure these are kept up to date
Skills
  • Relevant experience in either onshore or offshore oil and gas industry or candidates with significant experience in similar onshore Hazardous Industries such as continuous processes petrochemical, nuclear or power generation
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrates knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and apply it in the workplace
  • Previous experience in use of SAP or similar CMMS preferred
  • Be familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to deploy operational standards, policies, and producers to meet both regulatory and safety standards
  • Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, health, and hygiene
  • Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas. Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion
  • Ability to co-ordinate daily routines covering both the technical and administrative roles
  • Requirement to control supplies of material/equipment and cost associated with them
  • Ability to provide guidance and motivation to terms and co-workers
  • Complete mandatory training required as defined in the relevant Offshore Training Matrix
  • Adhere to the company Competence Framework
