Director, Marine Assurance Integration

Job Overview

The Director, Marine Assurance Integration is responsible for supporting effective implementation of Global Marine Assurance principles as defined by the ConocoPhillips Marine Risk Management Standard (MRMS) with Company business units (BUs). The position serves as the primary interface between Marine Assurance and the BUs and provides direct support to marine operations and projects ensuring prudent management of marine risks.

If you are selected as the Director, Marine Assurance Integration, you will work closely with the Director, Marine Risk & Vetting to ensure the mission of Marine Assurance is efficiently carried out.

Your Responsibilities May Include

  • Provide support as a marine SME to ConocoPhillips business units for upstream and downstream marine operations, engineering, and projects to ensure alignment to corporate standards and industry standard practices
  • Collaborate with regional Marine Assurance Leads to ensure effective and timely marine support to the business units
  • Act as the Marine Assurance focal point for marine risk management support to business unit marine operations
  • Provide marine expertise to business units in the marine contracting process including the planning and development of marine tenders and bidder evaluations
  • Maintain routine communication with business unit marine teams to stay ahead of upcoming work and recent marine issues or challenges to ensure early engagement with Marine Assurance
  • Assist business units with development and implementation of Corrective Active Plans resulting from marine near misses / incidents or audits
  • Collaborate with Director Marine Risk & Vetting to evaluate effectiveness of Marine Assurance processes and procedures and work to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Global Marine Technical & Commercial teams to ensure a coordinated approach with all business unit engagements
  • Represent ConocoPhillips interests in marine forums and industry groups promoting continuous improvement to marine standards and standard practices
  • Support Manager Marine Assurance by building and leading the customer focus effort with Marine Assurance staff for all business units
Skills

Basic/Required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Marine Engineering, or foreign equivalent
  • Holds or previously held the Seafarers' Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Class1 or 2 Certificate of Competency
  • 10+ years of seagoing experience or equivalent shoreside engineering or assurance experience within the maritime industry
  • 3+ years of Marine engineering background with upstream oil & gas experience
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basis
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to be on call 24/7
