Job Responsibilities

Job:Labour Relations Manager – Marine HR

REPORTING
· Reports to Head of Marine Relations.

PURPOSE
· Ensure compensation and benefits package for all the seafarers is
o meets the legal employment regulations in the relevant countries which mainly includes Denmark, Germany, British, South Africa, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, India, China, Philippines.
o meets the flag state and international maritime labour convention requirements.
o is easy to understand and administer.
· Ensure a clear guidance is set for collective bargaining negotiations across all geographies meeting the company’s targets.
· Build capabilities and manage strategic relationships with flags states/regulators, shipping/ employer associations, unions specifically in Asia Pacific region.
· Provide support and infrastructure to assist in compliance with Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) across various aspects of Marine HR.
· Act as vessel manager for A.P. Moller Singapore flag vessels and be a contact point in case of flag state operational matters.
· Responsible for procedures and handling of HR complaints and grievances cases raised by seafarers onboard the vessel
· Support the Marine Welfare & Wellbeing Manager re the wellbeing and welfare agenda.
· Lead the negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements with Unions in Asia-Pacific region.
· Propose and maintain the CBA negotiations mandate for the negotiating teams globally.
· Work closely with Payroll and Finance Teams to keep the systems and budgets updated.
· Execute on the performance bonus scheme for offshore employees.
· Own the Marine HR complaints procedure, Manage the harassment and bullying complaints, including sexual harassment, Respond to HR complaints and grievance sent from vessel to be solved by the Company. This to prepare and support the Maersk Marine Complaints Board in their decision-making re com-plaints and more.
· Cross functional coordination, management reporting, stakeholder management, business process optimisation.

AUTHORISATION
· Authorise to sign Marine HR related documents and employment agreements for seafarers on behalf of A.P. Moller Singapore Pte Ltd.

Skills

· We expect you have knowledge of and experience in working with labour relations and maritime labour laws
· The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the maritime industry but it is not prerequisite
· You enjoy working with different stakeholders, unions and employer organizations, and you are a strong team player
· You get motivated by supporting organizations regarding process review and optimization, standardizing and transforming ways of working
· Through knowledge of MLC and STCW and various Collective Bargaining agreements. Certification in compensation and benefits is an added advantage.
· You are positive, engaged and is driven by passion to the maritime industry
