Job Responsibilities
*This position is based in West Africa, therefore a professional level of French is required*
The successful candidate will excel in both strategic and executional areas in order to leverage the Agency. The position is located in West Africa (to be disclosed further in the recruitment process) and reporting to HQ Geneva.
Key responsibilities
- Formulate the Country Annual budget and ensure realization of plans and targets agreed with the Board of Directors
- Act as a legal representative for the country, establish effective public relations with key stakeholder and act as the key spokesperson of the Company to authorities, government or media officials
- Analyze markets and identify business opportunities in line with the overall strategy and ensure the implementation of business development initiatives, geared towards a healthy growth of the business and improvement of MSC’s competitive position in the Country
- Ensure weekly and daily commercial targets are met, by pushing on local sales, contacting global and local clients to make sure contracts are properly implemented at local level, making sure capacity is optimized for all shipments in terms of volumes, mix, weight, utilization of allocations
- Push on added value services maximization, through the development of additional income coming from services such as customs clearance, warehousing, intermodal transportations, pre and post shipment, etc.
- Develop and implement customer service plans by following corporate guidelines, ensuring the team achieves core KPI’s in terms of response time and accuracy, managing the service coverage taking into account peak shifts and part-time / absences / pause, monitoring statistics of the area, customer complaints, deliveries and calls, and determines possible improvements, investigating and solving the long lasting and complex customer complaints
- Analyze current organizational structure and processes, initiate and ensure implementation of organizational improvements, in order to develop an organizational capability which supports the realization of strategy
- Make sure documentation is timely and properly produced and available (booking confirmation, shipping instructions from clients, bill of lading, internal code of conduct / anti-fraud, etc.) in order to be compliant with internal and external rules and to facilitate operations, by managing internal resources and / or outsourcer
- Ensure all accounting processes are properly and timely executed, by managing all administrative and accounting operations and processes, according to Group policies, guidelines and procedures
- Assure effective implementation of corporate-wide credit and collection policies, procedures, and standards; drive improvements to credit risk management and operating procedures whilst building effective working relationships with external customers
- Manage employees in the country by motivating overall staff, with respect of single professional competencies with the purpose to promote and assure individual actions and performance in line with elevated company standards that will contribute to the realization of company goals
