Marine Assurance Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise assigned staff & contractors to ensure consistent delivery of safe, credible, competitive, and affordable Marine services, supervise Marine assigned resources & Contractors, robustly assuring competencies.
  • Providing excellence in delivering Marine assurance to Shell Australia principally Prelude and associated marine projects..
  • Executing fit for purpose standardized Marine processes, data, systems, and technology.
  • Act – when / if required - as the contract Holder and manage operationally Marine contracts to ensure that Marine contributes to the key objective of ensuring safe maximum returns are made for the Assets in their entire lifecycle.
  • Executing that HSSE management of Marine contractors assigned is given priority by supervising Contractors staff in order to embed Safety Culture and high safety performance.
  • Deliver marine annual HSSE plan ensuring a robust safety culture exists, within all logistics operations, to provide all Marine logistics services risks are managed.
  • As requested by the Head of Marine lead or support investigations and follow up of all Marine incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Assure that HSSE cases are adhered to for all major contracts and activities. Execute emergency response procedures and capability.
  • Actively pursuing best in class initiatives and participate – when / if required - in global networks and benchmarking activities related to Marine operations.
  • Effectively engage with internal & external staff to ensure Marine activities are aligned with company strategy.
  • Support Local Project Marine scope in conjunction with Projects to ensure safe, cost effective and timely delivery..
Skills
  • Master Mariner Class 1 or Marine Engineer Class 1
  • Extensive experience in Maritime Projects, ideally with visibility on other areas of Downstream / Upstream marine operations
  • Direct exposure to marine contract management
  • Cross Business experience or External Oil & Gas Logistics experience beneficial
  • Experience with Maritime Assurance Systems advantageous
  • Experience with incident management processes advantageous
  • Experience with Causal Investigation processes or similar
  • Skilled in understanding, executing, and improving Maritime Assurance Processes, Maritime Upstream Operations, Personnel Transport Operations, support operations for Non-routine Maritime events as well as managing Maritime Emergency Response
  • Skilled in people management, Internal / External Staff effective management, communication skills
  • Comfortable to go beyond comfort zone
  • Passion for relentless Continuous Improvement
