Collaborate proactively with the Director, Marine Risk & Vetting and regional Marine Assurance Leads to provide uninterrupted vetting coverage to the business units
Provide support in the continued implementation and improvement of the Marine Risk Management Standard and the associated assurance, vetting and auditing processes
Collaborate with Commercial and Technical functions to provide marine expertise and support to business unit (BU) marine operations and projects as needed
Interface with ConocoPhillips business units and provide guidance on marine risk related matters and the vetting process
Organize and arrange vessel inspections with Company and third-party inspectors under the OCIMF SIRE & OVID inspection programs
Support OCIMF SIRE/OVID inspections of Company operated and chartered vessels
Conduct TMSA/OVMSA/MTMSA verification audits of vessel and terminal operators and follow through to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
Support the Marine Terminal Assurance Program (MTAP) by conducting terminal assessments
Attend industry functions as directed by manager, Marine Assurance, on marine related matters to promote the continued improvement in industry standards and best practices that may impact ConocoPhillips business
Monitor incident reports and trends of vessels in Company service to make prompt recommendations to improve risk mitigation measures
Support the review of marine incidents with assessment of vessel incident reports, identifying trends and developing best practices for risk mitigation
Act as a vetting backup to other regional Marine Assurance leads to provide global vetting coverage on an as needed basis
Skills
Basic/Required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination, or ConocoPhillips approved accommodation, required
Bachelor's degree or higher in a marine related field or foreign equivalent
5+ years seagoing experience as an officer or equivalent shoreside operations / assurance experience in the maritime industry
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 25% of the time and be on call 24/7
Preferred
10+ years seagoing experience as an officer or equivalent shoreside operations / assurance experience in the maritime industry
Maritime academy graduate
Working knowledge with OCIMF, IMCA, CDI, USCG or equivalent
Working knowledge with SIRE, OVID, TMSA, OVMSA
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively to drive team performance
