Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Minimum of 5 years of Marine experience. Examples include petroleum product Scheduling, Marine Voyage Operations, Chartering, etc.
- Ability to work after hours, outside of work schedule to resolve operational changes (operations activity occurs 24/7 and often requires communication off hours)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Marine Operations at a Major IOC or Transportation Company
- Commercial Oil & Gas experience
- Maritime Industry knowledge
- Sailing experience
- Knowledge of transaction accounting and commercial contracts is also desirable as these will aid the individual's understanding of documentation requirements and payment processes and requirements
- Specific knowledge of shipping logistics and shipping markets crude oil, oil products, chemicals, lubes and petroleum specialties
- Specific knowledge of ship and port operations and dispatch
- Commercial mindset to logistics, aptitude for optimizing activities
- Understanding of and experience in tanker charter parties, ship load patterns, trade lanes and claims (demurrage and cargo loss, quality)
- VIP knowledge a plus
- Views of how competition optimizes voyage execution
- Analytical, ability to identify and execute optimization opportunities (to maximize revenue gen or minimize cost output) on a marine asset
- Creative and innovative, driven, high energy, self-starter and barrier breaker
