Marine Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing the operations and scheduling activity of ExxonMobil cargoes and third party cargoes on behalf of ExxonMobil
  • Managing equipment from various third parties under existing or new contracts (Term Charter, Spot Charter, Contract of Affreightment, etc.)
  • Generating scheduling orders (Nominations) using trade signals from Traders and Optimizers
  • Ensuring all marine equipment (including load and discharge terminal) is properly vetted prior to load through internal vetting system
  • Formulating and issue appropriate voyage orders and letters of indemnity (as necessary).
  • Identifying and seeking opportunities for cost reductions through optimization of fleet (i.e. outcharters, cleaning reductions, repositioning, etc)
  • Providing timely and accurate schedule, vessel and voyage related operations information to internal stakeholders, vessel agents and ship brokers to ensure vessel utilization and safety objectives are achieved (anticipated arrival and departure timing, in-port operations, lifting schedules, and other vessel/voyage data)
  • Acting as first point of contact for initial incident notification
  • Arranging and optimizing supply and delivery of bunkers for time chartered vessels
  • Working with sites to support and coordinate long-range planning and refinery turnarounds to ensure adequate equipment coverage and signal accuracy
  • Working closely with Demurrage Claims organization to minimize losses and maximize value to ExxonMobil
Skills

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline e.g. Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics (or relevant work experience underpinned by strong P&L performance)
  • Have previous Marine Commercial experience, focused predominantly on:
    • Evaluating, optimising and managing freight operations
  • Able to work after hours, outside of work schedule to resolve operational changes (operations activity occurs 24/7 and often requires communication off hours)
  • Possess an understanding of risk management
  • Have strong commercial acumen, an entrepreneurial mind-set, analytical/IT skills and take accountability for your results and contributions to the team
  • Possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a multi-cultural team environment
  • Have fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
  • VIP knowledge a plus
