Marine Operations Officer

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the role has the responsibility to guarantee the most fuel-efficient route and the safest passage. Some of your core tasks are:

  • Passage planning and monitoring to provide advice on vessel routing considering different weather conditions to the vessel masters for the passage
  • Monitoring of the speed & route assigned to the vessels
  • Advising most fuel-efficient route considering any other potential obstacles
  • Considering the vessel motion in the passage plan according to the weather conditions
  • Monitoring fuel consumption for the voyage plan when to change over different fuel types at different points of the route
  • Monitoring the stability and the ballast of the vessel
Skills
  • Solid navigation and maritime knowledge
  • At least 2 years on board
  • Perfect command of English both written and spoken, any other language is an asset
  • Excellent team player and ability to work independently as well as under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solving oriented
  • Available as soon as possible
