Marine Operations Specialist (Vessel & Port)

Job Responsibilities

- In general, act as focal point to coordinate between various parties (ship, area office, customer service, sales, global service center, partners, terminal, suppliers etc) to ensure a smooth call of Sealand vessel to Vietnam ports, and smooth daily ground operations.
- Work with relevant parties to create optimal Berthing Plan for ships calling to Vietnam ports in the way that ensure vessel can berth as early as possible, shorten port stay and depart as early as possible
- Work with terminal and relevant parties to deliver high berth/work productivity during portstay and monitor the load/discharge process.
- Create Stowage instruction / stowage plan for loading using cCASP+, and/or proper tool/ method in critical situation to maximize the loading of the vessel while ensure a high load/discharge productivity and high schedule reliability, safety.
- Arrange and coordinate all vessel husbandry matters to ensure vessel smoothly arrive and depart.
- Coordinate with relevant parties for all vessel/container incidents happening at local (twistlock, reefer damage, cargo transfer, vessel damage…)
- Ensure portmemo system correctly updated for Vietnam ports.
- Ensure all vessel reports are sent by relevant parties in timely manner (TDR, final loadlist, departure baplie, container damage report, seal mismatch…).
- Coordinate with all relevant parties to set up new terminal, service call.
- Arrange for loading late gate in container, outlist container as per agreement with related parties.
- Work with terminal to get favorable proforma window as per request from Sealand HQ.
- Execute all Port to Port transportation as the extended leg of the ocean booking.
- Work with authority to apply for the Liquidation of the abandoned cargoes as per request from CS team.
- Work with local authority including Port Authority, Pilot, Police, Customs, Vinamarine…following instruction from manager.
- Coordinate with Finance Business partner and other relevant parties to monitor and protect cost. In daily work, propose the operations solution that is cost optimal for the business.
- Coordinate matters related to transportation plan such as cut off time, delay in transit, change of destination, out of gauge (OOG) acceptance, dangerous goods (DG) acceptance, inter terminal transportation (ITT), transshipment… etc.
- Keep track of performance via KPI, take proper action to drive for improvement
- Continuously find way to improve process, SOP
- Be able to make arrangement for barging/ trucking per company’s business requirement
- Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve any ad-hoc situation

Skills

- 2 years of related experience in related field. Fresh graduate with relevant degree is encouraged to apply
- Basic experience in the crewing/ maritime/shipping industry is preferred
- Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Vietnamese is essential
- Willing to work in a 24/7 standby setup including public holiday or weekend (might need to travel to port at night).
- Outgoing and convincing personality, a person with a sense of urgency and result oriented

- Team player and able to work under minimum supervision
