Marine Operator

Job Responsibilities

  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s Life Saving Rules.
  • ‘Live’ our Petrofac Values and apply them in day-to-day work.
  • Participation in the annual performance review process, completing meaningful scorecards through SMART objectives and completing reviews in line with the company driven timeframe.
  • Accountable to the Marine Supervisor (TSS) for the safe operation of Marine Systems.
  • Stand-in for Marine Supervisor (TSS) when required to do so.
  • Assist with Deck Duties as required by Marine Supervisor (TSS).
  • Perform routine and non-routine (Front Line) Maintenance tasks on Marine Systems, Safety systems, Utilities systems recording history and reporting defects.
  • Preparation and re-instatement of equipment requiring intrusive and non-intrusive maintenance.
  • Control of work and activities in your area of responsibility including auditing.
  • Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion.
  • Emergency Response duties as detailed for position (Coxswain, HDA etc.)
Skills

 

  • Relevant qualification: MCA Officer of the Watch (Deck) CoC.
  • Dangerous Cargo Endorsement (Oil).
  • Previous Oil Tanker &/or FPSO Marine Experience in similar role.
  • OPITO Coxswain, Heli-Deck, Rigging or Load hander qualifications desirable.
  • Must have strong understanding of Ship Stability and Cargo Operations.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Use skills and experience to contribute to problem solving and improvements.
  • Have Emergency Response role and possess valid certification or willing to train for this role.
  • Must be prepared to act as Lifeboat Coxswain &/or Heli-Deck assistant.
  • Must be a willing to acquire Marine/Deck Qualifications as per Training Matrix.
  • Must be Flexible and/or prepared to cover absences within Department when required to do so.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to Safe Working Practices.
  • Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
  • Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers.
  • Good PC literacy and familiar with MS Office suite.
  • Candidate must have experience working as Chief Officer or Second Officer on Merchant Navy Vessels (or relevant Marine Capacity on an FPSO).
  • MCA Certificate of Competency (Deck) must be valid.
  • Experience with Dangerous Cargoes (Crude or Product Oil Tankers) is essential.
  • Experience with Tanker Marine Systems (Cargo & Ballast) is essential.
  • Experience with Isolations of Marine Systems (Cargo & Ballast).
  • Preferable experience with other FPSOs.
  • Preferable experience working with C.O.W, Inert Gas Generators, FRAMO hydraulic systems, Offloading equipment, Stability Computers and Maximo.
  • Preferable experience with ISSOW (Electronic Permit to Work) system although training will be provided.
  • Preferable experience with Deck Cargo Handling (Supply Vessels, Bunkering fluids etc), willing to be utilized working with Deck Crew when required.
