Marine Operator
Job Responsibilities
Engage In OE/HSE Activities Including But Not Limited To
- Ensuring safe work practices are followed
- Perform Hazard identification and conduct Risk Assessment with in-house contractors and ensuring risks are mitigated before commencing of work.
- Carry out verification and validation of relevant documents and certificates before issuance of work permits.
- Ensure adherence to the statutory compliance at all time when carrying out the respective tasks.
- Conduct AHAS prior to the work task and perform OE related duties such as OE-Walkabout, HSE Inspection, Near-Miss Incident reporting and SLTs.
- Assist in conducting proper Incident investigation and reporting.
- Conduct regularly checks and perform testing of the Terminal/Jetties Fire-Fighting Equipment and fire alarm system.
- Coordinate and supervise the in-house terminal crews on all HSE matters in the Terminal.
- Response to Emergency Situation in accordance to Penjuru Terminal Emergency procedure.
Operations
Part Of a Shift Team And Day Ops Team Comprising Of Lead Operators, Operators And Contractors On Duty To Ensure Safe And Smooth Operation For Tank Truck Loading, Marine Vessel Loading, Marine Vessel Receipt, Pipeline Receipt/transfer, Inter Tank Transfer, Tank Truck Receipt, Additive Receipt/usage, Storage Tanks Inventory Management By Performing The Following Activities But Not Limited To
- Carry out Tank Farm Operations
- Conduct Pipeline Receipt Operations
- Carry out Jetty and Marine Operations
- Ensure works are carry out in accordance to local Statutory Requirement, Chevron’s corporate and Terminal Rules and Regulations
- Ensure all contractors carry out their work in accordance to Chevron MSWP and all applicable Chevron processes. This includes ownership of the LOTO and HOTO process for all maintenance and repair works
Contractors and Marine Crews Supervision
- Site Supervise and steward the task being carried out by the company appointed contractors, marine crews and third parties delivery drivers to ensure compliance to the Safe Work Practices and Terminal Rules and regulations at all times.
Waste & Environmental Pollution Management
- Ensure all toxic and hazardous wastes in the terminal are not released into the environment and are instead properly collected and stored at the designated area in the terminal.
- Assist in the proper disposal of such waste according to the stipulated work instructions.
- Comply with the Waste management process and Environmental stewardship process.
Stakeholders Engagement
- Liaise with vessel masters, surveyors, terminal crews, and internal & external stakeholders with regards to product receipts, berthing of vessels, storage of products, Delivery/loading operations, tank to tank transfer operations, blending operations to maintain a high level of safety, efficiency, and reliability throughout when on duty.
- Ensure all the OE processes are complied with.
Leadership Accountability
- Conduct field supervision and steward the contractors to ensure compliance to the Chevron OE requirements.
- To oversee and be accountable for the operability of the terminal equipment and various assets and report up any non-compliance acts or equipment abnormalities.
- Ensures fraud is prevented through being vigilant and report to immediate supervisor or calling the company hotline if frauds are suspected or discovered.
Training & Development
- Participates in all trainings designated for the position.
- Develop fluency and competency by continuously applying the learned knowledge to improve current work skills.
- Help to provide trainings download to fellow operators.
- Attend external courses to meet the job required qualifications when required.
- Perform any other reasonable Terminal task as assigned by Lead Operators and Supervisor as and when required.
