Marine Superintendent

Job Responsibilities

 

  • keeping track of changes and applying relevant (inter)national legislation and regulations and flag-dependent guidelines in the field of maritime safety;
  • ensure that the policy is implemented on board the ships;
  • responsible for maintaining nautical standards on the ships;
  • advising ship management on maritime safety policy;
  • participating in meetings and sharing information with Fleet Group;
  • planning, carrying out, supervising and coordinating inspections, audits and RI&Es (also acting as a contact person for the authorities);
  • following up on action points resulting from the audits carried out;
  • carrying out incident reports and following up on preventive & corrective measures;
  • actively following up on Near Misses;
  • manage the various vessel tracking systems.
Skills
  • HBO working and thinking level,
  • knowledge of International Safety Management (ISM) and ISPS guidelines,
  • extensive knowledge of nautical and technical working areas,
  • experience in leading projects,
  • possession of relevant operational experience within the working area,
  • good knowledge of the Dutch and English language,
  • be willing to travel.
