We have an opening for a Maritime Officer to join our close knit Harbourmaster team where no two days are the same. Are you up for the challenge? Jump on board!

Covering both the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours and all the waterways in between, no other job offers more variety than a role with the Harbourmaster. The Harbourmaster is the guardian of Auckland's navigable waters, as far north as the Mokohinau Islands and as far south as the Firth of Thames.

Some Of Their Main Tasks Include

The Maritime Officers are responsible for day to day management of Auckland's maritime areas. They are predominantly office-based but their hugely varied role gives them plenty of opportunity to get out on the water.

• Investigating and responding to customer enquiries and complaints
• Management and maintenance of navigation aids, markings and signage
• Emergency and oil spill response planning and coordination
• On-water event management
• Mooring management
• Commercial activities
• Salvage operations
• Wreck and derelict vessel disposal
• Maintenance of Harbourmaster equipment
