Interface with equipment Suppliers in the creation and refresh of technical qualifications, as well as providing Supplier performance intervention support to bp Operations and Project teams
Support new supplier capability assessment process as part of the cross-discipline assessment team, support site audits, RCFA, incident investigations, quality alerts, product alerts and lessons learned
Interface with Projects in the development of supplier bid lists
Support the Innovation & Engineering (I&E) SME Teams with the development of new and existing equipment technical specifications
Participate in technical networks (bp internal and external) and communities of practice, develop close links with technical specialists and engineers of all disciplines, both within I&E and across other parts of bp
Skills
Experience and Job requirements:
Mechanical Engineering Degree
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
6 – 12 years relevant energy industry experience
Experience of leading Supplier technical engagements
In-depth knowledge of static mechanical engineered equipment / packages
Passion for excellence in application of engineering requirements with good planning skills and attention to detail
Ability to influence, motivate and energise others with a differing perspective to a common objective
Desirable Criteria:
Familiarity with standardisation principles and the benefits to procurement, project and production efficiency
Experience of supplier selection and leading delivery of equipment package
Experience of new equipment and aftermarket service requirements
Experience with operational site support
Experience with incident and defect investigation
Knowledge of industry standards, including the IOGP JIP33 programme
Creative and progressive thinker around how we can continue to improve the way we work and what we should be working on to prepare for the future
Strong communication skills to work in a collaborative approach to delivery with multiple stakeholders
