Mechanical Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute engineering work in line with both their personal and squad backlog to deliver business value in line with the standards and processes set by their discipline
  • Safely execute activities under the Squad Lead’s direction and using discipline standards/processes
  • Maintain health of technical barriers, delivers high quality technical work and support to the wider business
  • Engages and supports the wider discipline network with initiatives and sharing of lessons learned and best practice
  • Support innovation within their discipline for bp’s new strategy and aims
  • Support the standardization of hardware solutions through the business and ensure standardized practices are maintained including the development of new and existing equipment technical specifications
  • Interface with Suppliers in the creation and refresh technical qualifications, as well as providing Supplier performance intervention support on behalf of bp
  • Support new supplier capability assessment process as part of the cross discipline assessment team, support site audits, RCFA, incident investigations, quality alerts, product alerts and lessons learned.
  • Development of supplier bid lists for bp projects
Skills
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
  • Experience of leading Supplier technical engagements
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical process and utility packages
  • Knowledge of specifications and developing technical requisitions
  • Passion for Excellence in application of engineering requirements with good planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence, motivate and energize others with a differing perspective to a common objective.
  • Communication skills to work in a collaborative approach to delivery with multiple stakeholders
