Offshore Personnel Supervisor

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Offshore Personnel Supervisor to join Fugro in Aberdeen, working within the Operations – Personnel Resources side of the business supporting the Marine Asset Integrity business line.

This position is responsible for overall management of offshore remotely operated vehicles (ROV) field staff assigned to their area of responsibility to maximise engagement, career and developmental opportunities and the even distribution of available skills and experience according to operational need.

You will support and cooperate with project management and other Operations – Personnel Resources staff internally to achieve key objectives which will include the allocation of staff, agency and other Fugro inter-company personnel. The role of Offshore Personnel Supervisor requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.

Who You’ll Be Working With

Within this role you will be the focal point and responsive customer service for the Company’s Services Lines and offshore personnel. You will work closely with Offshore Personnel Coordinators, Project Managers and Service Line Directors to ensure forward planning of crew requirements for projects and competent coordination of crews for these projects in a timely matter. You will also liaise with any third party agencies regarding crewing requirements.

Here’s What a Typical Day Would Be Like

  • Plan deployment and distribution of personnel resources.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with individual field staff assisting in seeking and implementing development opportunities for them.
  • Guide and instruct Senior Offshore Coordinator and Offshore Coordinators.
  • Ensuring documentation for staff is up-to-date.
  • Liaise with service line staff on crewing requirements.
  • Ensure personnel are tracked for payroll and project recharge and track and check invoices for other Fugro Companies or 3rd party personnel.
  • Attend operations and service line meetings.
Skills
  • Vocational qualifications and / or relevant experience in similar role.
  • Experience in resource planning to meet ad-hoc requirements and short deadlines.
  • Understanding of offshore project requirements.
  • Excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form working relationships with colleagues, staff and sub-contractors at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet project deadlines accordingly.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite.
  • Disciplined, self-motivated and flexible team player.
  • Capable of generating a safe and quality-based culture within the offshore team.
  • Aberdeen based or willing to relocate to Aberdeen.
  • Ability to perform the on-call rota.
     

Desirable

  • HNC / HND qualified in administrative or technical discipline.
  • Understanding of offshore ROV roles and their responsibilities Pilot Technicians, Submersible Engineers and ROV Supervisors.
  • An offshore technical background seeking to move to an onshore role.
  • Proven ability to perform appraisals and assessments.
  • Proven ability to co-ordinate with internal client and personnel agencies for efficient personnel permitting and planning.
