  • Review and understanding of project procedures and survey and inspection requirements.
  • Operate and maintain survey navigation and data acquisition systems.
  • Operate and maintain survey surface and sub-surface positioning systems.
  • Ensure that all project required raw and pre-processed survey data is recorded in real-time.
  • Full understanding of the operation of all commonly used survey systems and sensors.
  • Apply full quality control, validations and cross-checks at all times with respect to all sensors and systems interfaced to the navigation and acquisition software and to ensure that they are operating and to within specifications and requirements described within the project-specific procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all necessary survey sensor calibrations and verifications are undertaken and at the necessary interval and as described in the Company’s standard procedures. All calibrations will be documented and archived on the vessel are reported to the Survey Helpdesk.
  • To monitor, maintain and document the vessel and ROV dimensional control reference frames (offsets)
  • Carry out the survey operations in accordance with client’s work scope and Subsea 7 operational procedures to client satisfaction.
  • Must be knowledgeable in commonly used survey datum’s, map projections and reference spheroids.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to Subsea 7’s safety management system and operating standards.
  • Assist with offline processing of logged survey data and chart production.
  • To liaise with the bridge officers, ROV crew and other onboard departments as necessary, to ensure that the required level of information and communication is always maintained.
  • To ensure that where there is deviation from approved project and standard procedures, these are notified to the line manager so that the Company’s Management of Change process may be implemented.
  • Fully brief relief surveyor at shift handover and at crew changes.
  • Responsible for producing Field Reports including as built sketches.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Survey or Inspection Project coordinator or Senior Surveyor
  • Undertake training in survey / inspection operations in accordance with the Subsea 7 Survey & Inspection Competence Assurance Scheme training and competency scheme.
  • The Surveyor shall comply with the requirements of the Subsea 7 Global HSEQ Training Program.
Skills

Requirements:

 

  • Degree or qualification in relevant survey related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 12 months offshore experience in a relevant environment, with at least 100 days offshore as Associate Surveyor.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite
  • Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
  • Strong communication and log keeping skills
  • Articulates views in a comprehensive manner
  • Produces written work of a high standard and presentable quality
  • Works well with others in a team environment
  • Ability to understand and interpret instruction and coordinate own work
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain clear and concise logbooks and records
