Operations Superintendent

Job Responsibilities

Make your mark as an Operations Superintendent for Boskalis Marine Services! Marine Services deals with the global chartering of tugs, anchor handling tugs, barges and sheerleg’s of Boskalis Offshore Energy. Next to that, we execute internal & external projects in the field of renewables, wind energy, etc.. As an Operations Superintendent, you play a key role in the startup & execution phase of charters and very diverse projects of our fleet. You make sure to manage your assets, maintaining overview on agreed schedules & courses and remotely tackling issues on board. During projects, you collaborate with many different stakeholders (also abroad), while maintaining the overview in multiple projects at the same time. Quality and safety are your first priority and you act accordingly.

Your responsibilities as an Operations Superintendent

  • In collaboration with the Operations Manager, you prepare charters & projects and launch them. This includes selecting necessary materials/ equipment and making deals with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Alignment and exchange of information between our fleet, project teams and the assets-coordinators on shore.
  • Maintaining day to day contact with on-board team, directing, instructing and motivating Project crew and Marine crew during the full project.
  • Monitor the progress of mobilizations, adjust where necessary and optimize projects. You pay attention to safety (SHE-Q), working conditions and you supervise cost control.
  • When needed (on a regular base), you work on project locations abroad.
Skills

You can make your mark as an Operations Superintendent if you have:

  • A solid nautical background. You understand the day-to-day business at sea and how to make sure projects & charters are executed successfully. Experience with Anchor Handler vessels is a big plus.
  • A bachelor level degree in Nautical Science or Maritime Officer.
  • The ability to stay calm when under pressure and deal with stressful situations.
  • Excellent command of the English language & good command of the Dutch language (or willingness to learn).
  • Strong communication & collaboration skills.
  • The flexibility to work abroad on a regular base and incidentally working in the weekends (or being standby).
  • The ability to work both independently and collaborate within a team
