Port Captain

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate port calls for assigned Vessels, monitoring of operational performance
  • Ensure operational compliance to MSC Guidelines and Contracts
  • Active communication with vessel, terminals, pilot, tug and other suppliers
  • DA handling (Proforma and Final), ensuring correct data input, monitoring and verification
  • Cross functional tasks within the Operations & Logistics team, Vessel boarding when required
  • Proactive communication towards internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain berthing program
  • Budget control for the vessel operation
Skills
  • University graduate, with experience and passion for the shipping and maritime environment
  • In addition to a Scandinavian language, excellent command of oral and written English is a must
  • Good computer knowledge & IT savy
  • Clear communicator, problem solver and decision maker
  • Service minded by nature
  • Able to build strong long-term relations with relevant stakeholders
  • Used to work in a complex, global company with many stakeholders in various functions and countries
  • Proactive, foresees and plans around obstacles, balances multiple activities and demands; use time effectively and efficiently
