Senior Naval Architect

Job Responsibilities

  • Mooring system (quayside, offshore and inshore) design, installation, and 3rd party reviews,
  • Mooring integrity management,
  • Riser analyses,
  • SURF operation analyses and reviews,
  • Inspection planning and management (moorings, hulls),
  • Support for marine operations (engineering assessments and third-party reviews),
  • Float-over assessments,
  • Hydrodynamic and stability assessments.
     

Typical tasks may include:
 

  • Undertake hydrodynamic and stability assessments using WADAM, HydroD and GHS,
  • Undertake moorings, risers, pipelay and cable installation assessments using ORCAFLEX / SIMA,
  • Undertake moorings integrity management system development, reviews and inspection planning,
  • Undertake floating wind coupled assessments using ORCAFLEX / BLADED / SIMA,
  • Undertake structural assessments using the SESAM software suite,
  • Undertake third party reviews for marine operations.
Skills
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, or other relevant fields of engineering,
  • Considerable experience in a similar role,
  • Experience of software packages Orcaflex, WADAM, HydroD, SIMA, GHS etc.,
  • Good understanding of the nature and drivers of the offshore industry in general, including terminology and usages,
  • Offshore related work experience in marine operations.
