Ship Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspection and classification onboard ocean-going ships for compliance with DNV Rules for Classification, statutory requirements and international standards;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ business, processes, designs, developments and documentation at all times.
  • Takes responsibility for own competence and career development and ensures that the appropriate authorisations are gained and are kept up to date.
  • Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external feedback as appropriate.
Skills
  • Relevant Master/Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Maritime Industry, preferably with sea-going experience
  • Excellent written and spoken business-standard English is essential
  • Good command of French language preferred
  • An independent, self-organized team player with a positive customer-oriented mindset;
  • Asks for and acts on feedback to learn and improve;
  • Willingness to frequently travel within France and to Belgium is crucial;
  • In the possession of a valid driver’s license;
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job, such as climbing pilot ladders, tank inspections, crew boat launches, voyage surveys and flying;
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours, if the job requires.
