Shipping Maritime & Marine Advisor

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead development and day-to-day delivery of Shipping, Maritime & Marine CR plan. Create new, effective content to enable proactive external communications (media releases, speeches, social and digital activations, infographics, films, animations, exhibitions, print collateral).
  • Support development and execution of a global plan for external engagements and conferences for both Shipping and Maritime SVP and Marine VP; prioritise external engagements and platforms, in coordination with relevant central and local teams.
  • Lead external sensing programme for Shipping, Maritime and Marine leadership teams and assume responsibility for the provision of deep external insights incorporating social listening on areas of strategic interest.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders to ensure up-to-date market intelligence, support our advocacy positions and build reputation.
  • Contribute to reputation response to business issues and anticipate potential reputational issues for escalation to business leaders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure alignment of external positioning across CR, working closely with the wider CR community, businesses, country teams and other functions to deliver integrated and credible external positioning at the most relevant platforms.
  • Contribute to policy positions and policy analysis, liaise with policy subject matter experts across P&A teams.
  • Ensure disclosure requirements and audit trails in place for all business claims made by Shipping, Maritime and Marine.
Skills
  • Experience working in a corporate communications team within a complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of Shipping Maritime and Marine sector is an advantage.
  • Strong English written and verbal skills.
  • A clear thinker who is happy to work in a fast-paced, changing business environment, can ruthlessly prioritise and negotiate respectfully with senior leaders.
  • High degree of personal initiative, drive, and desire to come up with business targeted, creative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a network of external stakeholders and build trusted relationships externally.
  • Proven track record of working with senior business leaders, providing strategic support and guidance, developing trusted partnerships to support business outcomes.
  • Collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across boundaries to maximise commercial value for Shell as a whole.
