Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform multidisciplinary newbuilding surveys according to rules and regulations as well as supporting other service lines within maritime ( Fleet in Service & Component and Materials Certification) with and under the supervision of the DNV Project Manager at the site.
  • Effectively interact with the builder’s and owner’s representatives at the yard.
  • Participate in certification and verification of material & products according to rules and specified standards
  • Manage clients together with other relevant parts of our organization
  • Complete project-oriented work, including cooperation in interdisciplinary verification projects
  • Perform project control, reporting, and follow-up within the due date
  • Responsible for professional and consistent deliveries throughout the project - plan, coordinate, follow up and improve the operational activities of the project by the framework in the DNV strategy, budget, the DMS, and other applicable instructions
Skills
  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering
  • Approximately 1-5 years of experience within the maritime industry.
  • Project management experience
  • Team player but able to work independently on surveys
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Customer service orientation with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Fluency in Finnish and English language and preferably also in Swedish (speaking and writing)
  • PC Skills
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable with technology and digital tools
  • Availability for traveling, including voyage surveys
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job, e.g. Climbing ship side pilot ladders & in/out of tanks and confined spaces
