Tanker Shipping Operator Job In India

 

Main Purpose:To ensure proper operation of TC vessels and maximize performance – time charter equivalent (TCE), following global standards and International regulations at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake voyage planning to meet international regulation and respond to vessel issues
  • Handle bunker optimisation
  • Review stowage planning
  • Coordinate Agency appointments
  • Provide Voyage Orders to vessels
  • Monitor vessels performance during all voyages i.e.speed and consumption, tank cleaning optimization
  • Handle questionnaires, certificates, LOI’s  and all relevant supporting docs
  • Vetting
  • Update company’s software with required data
  • Working with internal and external counterparties to ensure the smooth management of ongoing operations, including pre and post operations activities
  • Ensure systems are updated at all times with accurate data
  • Verify supporting documents against data entry in respective systems, and raising any query to relevant department in case of inconsistent data
  • Capturing and posting invoices, credit and debit notes and posting recharges as may be required

Department

The Shipping Operations department manages one of the world’s largest Time Charter fleets in the world, handling all aspects of Time Charter vessel operations for the company, across liquid and gas tankers. 

The department is part of the broader Energy Operations division which executes on physical trades, a long-term business where strategic investments in storage and logistics capabilities around the world are central to our business model.

Skills

 

Candidates should have:

  • Up to 3 years’ work experience
  • MBA from a reputed college or university
    OR Degree in Maritime Engineering (
    both preferred)
  • Extremely strong communication skills / quantitative abilities
  • Strong business acumen and has a commercial approach
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Ability to in an international company, with individuals from many backgrounds
  • Capable of negotiating firmly but politely with international customers
  • Ability to speak/write English fluently.  High IT system literacy 
  • Capable of working in a multinational, high paced and challenging environment

The ideal candidate will be a curious, self-starter, who can think on their feet, is always hungry to learn and willing to do more, finding the next opportunity independently. Someone who is action-oriented, extremely well-organized, and can think out of the box, while applying logic to problems and finding solutions to challenges which the role will offer daily.
