Technical Superintendent

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads by example through complying with all safety procedures and practices at all times; -All tasks are to be performed in accordance with the Fugro (Standard) Vessel Management System and Fleet Services Management System;
  • -Reports, administrates, and controls all responsibilities and tasks through the designated Computerized Management Systems (CMS);-Services delivered in line with the Fugro (Standard) Vessel Management System and Fleet Services Management System Quality Management-
  • Ensures compliance with the Companies Quality standards;-Internal projects and tasks to improve the company’s performance.-Project with good audit result performance Health Safety, Security & Environmental Management –
  • Ensures compliance with the Companies Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental protection policy;-Vessels/Projects with good HSSE statistics Fleet Management Maintenance of assigned vessel(s)
  • Ensures maintenance is in accordance with the applicable Rules & Regulations, industry standards and the Fugro Maintenance Strategy as agreed upon in the Ship management contract;-
  • Reviews all planned and repair work scopes reported.-Is consulted by and advises the VSI and Chief Engineer on technical matters.-Continuous preparation of maintenance and repair periods and the budgets thereof.
  • When assigned, prepares and/or contributes to modifications-Proper project execution in line with the agreed deliverables IT Management-
  • Updates and maintains all vessel documentation in the CMS.-
  • Ensures that the vessel specific data quality of the CMS system is in line with company standards.-Up to date content of CMS systems Procurement Management
Skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Possess current driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
  • Possess a Bachelors degree in Maritime Studies preferred
  • Have 3 years or more of experience in a technical service role or, technical superintendent.
  • Unlimited Chief Engineer license required.
  • Have 3 years or more experience in troubleshooting shipboard propulsion and auxiliary systems.
  • Have experience as a manager is preferred.
  • Have Seagoing or closely related experience.
  • Experience with MS Office related software.
  • Fluent in English verbally and in writing.
