Vessel Assurance Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect Maersk Time Chartered and Owned vessels in Algeciras and Tangier Port covering but not limited to:
• Vessel condition surveys
• Pre-Charter Surveys
• Crane Surveys
• On Hire Surveys
• Pre-Purchase Inspections
• Risk-based surveys – detailed inspections on specific elements on high-risk vessels and other risk category vessels as needed
• Verification of critical controls
• Conduct incident investigations including root cause analysis.
• Assist with day to day challenges in the region locally
• Engage in dialogues with Local Authorities (e.g. PSC) discussing challenges and proposals with close dialogue with Marine Standards
• Engage with Time Charter Ship Managers in the region
• Inspect TC vessels in Drydock in the region
• Conduct Verification of critical controls
• Interact with Ship owners and managers for inspection finding follow up
• Drive continuous improvement of FleetRisk Platform from Surveyor’s perspective
• Engage with local terminals for continual improvements in safety for stevedores
