THE MISSION :
Within the vessel performance team, under the supervision of R&D department, your mission will be to analyze the high frequency data sent by connected vessel through dedicated dashboard, data collected through Smart ships project. The dashboard will focus on power/speed and consumption/speed curve, auxiliary engine use, sensor issue, main engine and auxiliary engine parameter and fouling detection.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
You will be part of the performance analytics team and part of your tasks will include:
- Analyze dashboard
- Perform high level root cause analyses
- Discuss with expert to fix more difficult issue
- Establish a weekly reporting of the issues detected and gains achieved
PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduated from engineering school and interested in the maritime industry
- Experience on writing code and producing results, preferably in the field of vessel performance analytics (hull and propeller, main and other engines onboard, etc.)
- Interpretation of the results and good physical understanding of vessel performance
- Preferably worked on similar subjects requiring vessel performance tool development
- A broad knowledge of data analytics tools, data governance and data challenges, statistics, etc…
- Fluent English, French is appreciated
Good knowledge of the following will be appreciated :
• Ship resistance and Propulsion
• Vessel Performance tools available in the market
• Data visualization tools (like Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power bi, etc…
• Microsoft Pack Office
Nice to have :
• Able to program in other languages: SQL, etc…
• Understanding of vessel dynamics in a seaway
• Understanding of meteocean data of meteorology
You will be working within a multicultural team working in one of the biggest shipping companies of the world in its efforts to reduce its fuel consumption and respective environmental emissions.
